“baking is my love language.”
How it all began…
With Love Baked Goods began long ago in a kitchen with my mother, grandmother and sister. It doesn't matter what age I am, we're always together and we're always in the kitchen.
Typically we’re baking for a holiday. At some point, we’ll be sure we ruined it. When we’re finished, my grandmother will say “look at that beautiful batter!” Every once in a while, my mother will sing to herself. Nothing ever comes out exactly as we thought it would, but in my memory, everything is warm, delicious, and perfect.
When I’m in my kitchen now, I can still hear us laughing and guessing amounts and questioning ingredients. I think about it when something I’ve baked doesn’t come out quite like it did the time before, but somehow manages to taste better than I imagined.
I’m happiest when I can spend a weekend in a kitchen with my sister, talking and cooking and baking, like we’ve done our whole lives. Because I’m surrounded by love, doing something I love.
Someone once said to me that baking is my love language.
I bake for people to show empathy, love, connection, and comfort. Food brings people together, and let’s face it, cookies bring people happiness. It fills my heart when people eat the things I’ve baked.
I love preparing something that will bring joy to someone else. It’s how I let people know that I care and that they are special. I founded With Love Baked Goods as a means to spread love to others.
